Practical Baby First Aid Training – Not Just Watching
First aid is much easier to remember when you’ve actually practised it.
That’s why my courses are hands-on.
I bring at least nine training manikins — baby, child and adult — so you aren’t sitting around waiting for one manikin to be passed around the room.
You’ll have plenty of opportunity to practise CPR, choking techniques and other essential first aid skills with me there to guide you.
There’s no test and no scare-mongering.
I explain things simply and practically so you understand why you’re doing something — because knowing why makes it much easier to remember what to do.
Meet Your Baby First Aid Instructor
I’m Kate, founder of Bumps & Bashes and a fully qualified First Aid Instructor and Assessor.
I founded Bumps & Bashes in 2009 after recognising that parents and grandparents needed practical first aid training designed specifically around babies, children and family life.
I’ve specialised in Children & Baby First Aid ever since.
I personally deliver my courses — I don’t subcontract the training — so when you read reviews of Bumps & Bashes, you’re reading feedback from people I’ve actually taught.
My sessions are friendly, relaxed and practical. You can ask as many questions as you like, and I’ll explain things in straightforward language that’s easy to understand and remember.
You don’t need to become a medical expert.
You just need to know what to do in those vital first minutes.

My aim is to make learning first aid as practical and stress-free as possible for new parents.
