What Will I Learn?
My Children & Baby First Aid Course is designed specifically for parents, parents-to-be, grandparents and carers.
We’ll cover the emergencies you’re most likely to worry about with babies and children, including:
- Baby, child and adult CPR
- Choking in babies, children and adults
- Recovery Position
- Bleeding
- Bumps and head injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Meningitis
- Raised temperatures and fevers
- Febrile convulsions
- Severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
- Insect bites and stings
- Poisoning
- Plus other common childhood emergencies and minor injuries
The course is practical, straightforward and relaxed. I explain why we do things, which makes first aid much easier to understand and remember.
There is no scare-mongering — just simple skills that could make an enormous difference in an emergency.
Practical First Aid – Not Just Watching
One of the most important parts of learning first aid is actually having the opportunity to practise it.
I bring at least 9 manikins — baby, child and adult — so you aren’t spending the session waiting for one manikin to be passed around the group.
You’ll have the opportunity to practise CPR, choking techniques and other lifesaving skills yourself, with guidance throughout.
The aim is for you to leave feeling more confident about what to do if something happens to your baby or child.

I’m Kate, a fully qualified First Aid Instructor and Assessor, and I’ve specialised in teaching Children & Baby First Aid to parents and families since 2009.
Being an Instructor and Assessor means I’m qualified not only to teach first aid but also to assess others.
